I found that some of life's greatest revelations can discovered on the open road with nothing more than an evening breeze, jazz on the radio, and a 5lb bag of gummi bears. I've also learned that I'll always have more questions than answers (and that's okay!). May this be a written and visual documentation of this crazy journey we call life.

Almost... there...

You would not believe the preparatory sketches that have gone into this project. Like I can't see the surface of my desk because of all the papers scattered about. Maybe I'll scan them in sometime, maybe not.

Bullfrog, pencil and acrylic on duralene, 18" x 24"

Tomorrow's the last day of class! And then 2 weeks of spring break (ie North Cascades work).

PS. These are reconstruction photographs. Meaning I started with one photograph of a frog jumping and then, through lots of anatomy studies, I fit the skeleton and muscles to this pose. It is WAY harder than one would imagine.
